Linen
We
supply a mattress blanket, two pillows and a duvet with protective
covers for each bed.
Guests who intend to provide their own
linen,
should include pillowcases, a duvet cover, if the duvet
is to be used, a bottom sheet and towels; sleeping bags are
of course acceptable alternatives. Wigeon prices
include linen and towels.
If guests require linen from
us, we provide
a bottom sheet, quilt cover, pillowcases, a bath towel
per
person, hand towel and dishtowels.
There is a charge of £6
per person per week for these items.
View a 52-week Availability Calendar,
with prices, including any Late Availability discounts presently on
offer, plus our Short Breaks programme. You can book online
from the Calendar and pay by credit card through our secure server.
We look forward to welcoming you!

All cottages are non-smoking.Cars are parked immediately in front of the cottages.
Wigtown Scotland's national Book Town (1 mile) apart from bookshops, has a Post Office, chemist, supermarket, cafes and other shops to provide the necessities for self-catering. We will be delighted to get in any provisions, before you arrive, particularly, bread, milk, butter, eggs, and such items that are inconvenient to carry long distances.
The cottages are all equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
A local bus service runs from Wigtown. Coaches run from Newton Stewart (6 miles) to London via Manchester and Birmingham, to Belfast via Stranraer and ferry and to Glasgow.
The nearest station is Barhill, on the Glasgow/Stranraer line, half an hour by car. We can meet people here if especially requested.
Kennels are provided free for kennel dogs; well behaved house dogs are welcome inside Teal and Greylag, but not Wigeon, which is furnished to a higher standard than Teal and Wigeon. We have our own dog and freerange poultry, so regrettably dogs cannot be allowed to range freely.
Our
Terms
On booking your cottage, we ask for a 40% deposit, rounded down
to nearest £5,
in advance of your final bill. This will only be refunded (less expenses incurred)
in the event of a cancelled booking if we are subsequently able to fill the cottage.
If you are concerned about loss of your deposit or holiday, you should take out
holiday insurance.
Your cheque for the holiday rent, including linen if required,
should be with us two weeks before your holiday starts; please give adequate
time for the post and make cheques payable to R J Surplice.
We ask you please
not to arrive before 3 pm and to vacate your cottage by 10 am on change-over
day; this is to allow us time to prepare your cottage to a good standard.
