In south west Scotland, bordering the Solway Firth, just 1 mile out of Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town (Dumfries 55 miles, Stranraer 25 miles), on the west side of the Cree Estuary & Wigtown Bay, lies Borrowmoss.

Stranraer, Newton Stewart and Dumfries are linked by the A75.  Wigtown is approximately 6 miles from Newton Stewart and is situated in The Machars area of Wigtownshire.

A local bus service runs from Wigtown. Coaches run from Newton Stewart (6 miles) to London via Manchester and Birmingham, to Belfast via Cairnryan and ferry, and to Glasgow.

The nearest railway station is Barrhill, on the Glasgow/Stranraer line, half an hour by car. We can meet people here if especially requested.

National Cycle Route 7 runs through Newton Stewart.
